And then outside! The garden deserves a compliment.
Built under architecture by the famous garden architect Erik van Gelder, whowrote about the garden:
"The villa's zinc accents are continued by corten steel elements in the garden. On the one hand in the upright plates that provide shelter and privacy. And on the other hand on the side of the house, in the 'extension' of the windows up to the separation. The characteristic rust colour with its warm and unpolished appearance contrasts beautifully with the slate trimmed, evergreen trees. These visually break through the long line and, viewed from the inside, provide a generous green touch.
The residents enjoy maximum peace and quiet and a beautiful view of the garden from the veranda at the rear of the house. In strategic places in the backyard are partitions in wood, natural stone and corten steel. The natural stone wall with a window marks out the pond with polished stainless steel watercourses. The wooden partition in the middle at the back of the garden limits the lawn on which the children can enjoy themselves. The large polyester pots at the end of the lawn are filled with low-growing ornamental grasses and whimsical leafless trees - a fine contrast to the shiny white material of the pots.
At the rear right is the lounge area: a wooden deck for lazing around, a jacuzzi for endless bathing pleasure, a pergola to catch the last rays of sunshine, and a sauna to sweat out the daily stress. Here, too, clever interventions provide just that little bit more: unobtrusive outdoor boxes for a strikingly beautiful sound, an elongated window in the sauna to oversee the garden, LED lighting that can compete with the warmest evening glow in terms of ambience."
