Bellagio, is often referred to as the Pearl of Lake Como, and is probably the most famous town of Como Lake. Explore Bellagio by taking a walk through its picturesque old town centre.
The villa is close to the gardens of Villa Melzi, which is one of the main points of interest near Bellagio. Built in the early 19th century it is still privately owned today. The beautiful botanical gardens, museum, and a chapel are open to the public.
The town is on two levels: the lower part by the lake, and the higher part that requires some up-hill walking on cobbled streets and staircases.
A few cosy streets are filled with shops and restaurants in central Bellagio, so you can easily explore most of them. It is highly recommended to walk to Punta Spartivento. It's the point at the very end of the peninsula, where Lake Como splits into two.
