"We bought this property as a holiday home about 15 years ago because of its great location and large rooms with stunning sea views.  Ramsgate has a much more up-market feel than most other seaside towns, and for us it had the advantage of being closer to London by road than many other seaside resorts.  Our children enjoyed their time here as there is lots to do, for example they learnt how to sail dinghies and ride bikes.  When we bought the house it was in a very parlous state. Since then we have spent a great deal of time, money and thought in creating the welcoming home you see today. Our builders have renovated it from top to bottom with completely new plumbing, central heating and electrics, including wired ethernet and terrestrial and satellite TV cabling to the principal rooms. We have put in modern bathrooms and a contemporary kitchen, new carpets and even completely renovated the balcony on the first floor. Although its canopy is still the original which was constructed by a local boat builder years ago. However, our children have grown up so it is not used very much, hence our decision to sell while the property is in pristine condition.  Even the kitchen and bathrooms have rarely been used and the carpets hardly walked on since we completed the renovation in mid 2019.

Ramsgate is a very vibrant place with its association with Georgian and Victorian royalty in the past and its contemporary ‘cafe society’ of today. For anyone who enjoys a meal out there are some excellent restaurants within a minute's walk while Waitrose and the town centre are very close by. There are numerous bars, cafes and eateries along Harbour Parade and if you have young children the long sandy beaches are within easy reach. As well as the marina, sailors can enjoy the Royal Temple Yacht club that is only a stone’s throw from the house. The town also includes a weekly market, a cinema and theatre as well as the lovely George VI memorial park and wide greensward clifftops that are a delight for walking the dog and cycle rides.

Commuters can be in London in about an hour and a quarter from Ramsgate station and there is easy road access to London, Canterbury and Dover. For older children there is the excellent Chatham House and Clarendon Grammar school as well as St Lawrence College private school and for younger members of the family there are a number of primary schools including Newlands and Holy Trinity Primary schools both rated Outstanding by Ofsted together with Wellesley and St Lawrence Junior prep schools."
