The Palace of the Order of the Temple is a medieval building built on the ruins of an old Templar Castle built in the first half of the 12th century on an earlier Moorish fortress, conquered from the Moors by D. Afonso Henriques, first king of Portugal. This excellent property is located 15 km from Coimbra, on top of a hill, which gives it complete privacy and panoramic views all around it that extend for several kilometers and allow you to capture the chromatic diversity and richness of its lands. In structural terms, it is a large quadrilateral closed in on itself, with an interior courtyard and high and extensive facades, asymmetrically torn in the three wings by 16th century windows, in the Manueline style, especially the one on the north facade, with a double span separated by a torso mullion. . The building consists of two floors interconnected with each other. In the first we find eleven suites, kitchen and pantry and in the second eight very large rooms, the largest having 140m2 and ceilings in mace, these are described in documents regarding the visitation that took place in 1508. On the property's 20,000 m2 plot, we have a swimming pool, a well and a centuries-old forest of oaks, cork oaks, holm oaks, pines and olive trees, among other species. The building has been classified as a Property of Public Interest since 2002, by the Portuguese Institute of Architectural Heritage, thus benefiting from tax exemptions.
