Comments from the creators of the eco homes:
“This has been a project very dear to our hearts and taken 20 years to come to fruition. Martin and I were inspired by the tree houses at Centre Parcs many years ago and loved the idea of living up in the trees and looking down to the water of the Fossdyke canal. This also instigated the idea of having the living spaces upstairs with the bedrooms on the ground floor. We wanted to reflect the environment too, such as nearby Lincoln Cathedral influencing the high ceilings – people have remarked upon the cathedral-like feel inside”
“Here at Chiselwood, we see so many new homes being built that just need some creativity and extra attention to detail in design to make them truly individual and have given these eco homes that special consideration. We are very proud of these houses and believe this small development will significantly enhance the area as well as providing a stimulating and original environment for the new owners”
Comments from the owner of one of the eco homes:
“I was looking for something completely different and, initially, it was the quirky style of the house that really caught my eye. I will say the photos online do not do it justice: you really need to feel the space and vibe that the building gives you, it’s amazing. I viewed 4 times before making my decision and each time I visited, I fell more and more in love with the property and development. The quality of the building and the fixtures and fittings are of a very high standard, the latter blending perfectly into the building”
“The house is addictive in a peaceful and calming way; it’s my escape and the surrounding canal and trees are beautiful. Martin and Mel who have created this tranquil living space are very friendly and supportive and you feel the love and hard work that has gone into this development. I also fell in love with the village of Saxilby”
“We live in a world where we need to focus on looking after our planet so that it is sustainable for our children and grandchildren. I love the great British outdoors and breathing in fresh air from the countryside is something that should not be taken for granted so this was also a huge factor in my decision making. We now should watch what we eat, drive, and recycle so it is important to me that I live in an eco-friendly way. The design and technology that has been used in the house means it is also a cost-effective way of living”
“I highly recommend the aftersales care and support that Martin and Mel have personally provided - nothing is too much trouble. I also needed help with a few items I wanted to purchase for the house and they were there to give invaluable advice”
“I am loving the different way of living; initially you may think it’s odd, but it fits perfectly, like a glove. The feeling of freedom, space and peace is amazing and I am very excited about living in the house through all seasons and having many years of happiness here”
“Don’t take my word for it, book a viewing today because you will have no regrets!”
