The house is built from granite rock extracted from the quarry at the mouth of the Pwllheli Harbour. Designed and built to a unique personal preference, Penarwel was clearly created to look older than it really is. Many differing features, blended together from previous era’s, create a Mansion House that appears to have stood for hundreds of years! Almost certainly unique to Wales, are the beautiful roof top Dragon Finials, each apex has a different ornate design from the Horn of Plenty to the Winged Dragon above the front entrance.
