North Star is a traditional Abaco beach house constructed by the renowned local builder Floyd Albury. The home’s exposed beams, open floor plan, and panoramic views evoke the ambiance of an expertly crafted wooden ship, for which the Albury family is famed. The two identical bedrooms with their ensuite bathrooms are located in opposite wings of the 1,100-sq. ft. foot home. The new and robust 2,500 square foot wrap-around deck with a 500 square foot shade pergola provides a perfect setting for enjoying the Bahamian outdoors at virtually any time and during every season. Throughout the day numerous options for sun or shade are offered, with incredible water views from every location. The expansive deck affords a variety of comfortable outdoor dining and lounging opportunities. The living room, kitchen, and bedrooms open directly onto the deck, and the Sea of Abaco is accessed from the deck by a convenient concrete walkway. The secluded North End Beach on the Atlantic side is less than 100 paces away and easily accessed via public right-of-way.
The house exterior is natural western red cedar, interior walls and ceilings are pickled spruce, and floors are tiled with terra cotta. There is full-house air conditioning and ceiling fans throughout. The kitchen, bathrooms, furniture, major appliances, and fixtures are all updated. A new propane generator with automatic transfer switch powers the entire house in case of electrical outages. A patio with built-in seating and a fire pit facilitates exceptional grilling and socializing. Boat dockage (including overnight) is available at the North End “Gans” dock, reachable within 2-3 minutes via golf cart.
