Living in classic grandeur.

The semi-paved driveway with a mix of deciduous and coniferous trees on one side and a vast purple flowering moorland on the other (4.5 hectares in total) leads you to beneficent crackling gravel edged by a majestic boxwood hedge. Once there, you will see a unique villa with thatched overhanging gable roofs with wolf ends in English country house style, designed by architect M.H. Krabshuis and built in 1925.

Original atmosphere preserved
The current owner bought the mansion in 1977 in its original condition. Everything as it was designed in the 1920s was still intact. With great care to preserve the authenticity, a thorough modernization was carried out. Thus, the hall, Heerenkamer and spacious living room (both with fireplace), the porcelain room with the crockery of "the family" and the adjacent dining room remained, but stays of the serving staff were converted into cozy kitchen with hand-operated elevator to the wine cellar and garden room with -under a plane tree- a private terrace.

Security
You will recognize the craftsmanship of the past in the wood paneling, the attractive mosaic floor in the hall, the dark oak doors, mantelpieces, many details and the spiral staircase to the second floor. Here you will find three bedrooms; a luxurious bedroom suite with parquet floor and en suite bathroom and two rooms with a shower room on the landing. Full-width along one of the rooms and the suite extends a balcony that overlooks the backyard with pond and large patio. The Master Bedroom also has an intimate covered balcony from which you can look out over the expansive Twente countryside. On the second floor are two more classic wood-style bedrooms with substantial storage spaces.

Outdoor estate with extensive flora and fauna
The thatched country house is surrounded by spacious lawns. The backyard -facing south- has a pond on which ducks regularly land. In the western lawn is a modest swimming pool. Next to the garage -with room for several cars- which has its own grease cellar and workbench and has a painting studio on the upper floor, is a shed for garden machinery and lawn mower. From there, you walk oven a grassy path through the vast heathland with juniper bushes to the private forest. Because this is a resting area, deer, pheasants and hares have settled there.

Rich property
The English country house is a national monument. That means the exterior and interior must remain partially intact. This is not for nothing; it is a rich ensemble with well-preserved details that has been perfectly maintained and restored over the years. For example, the thatched roof and downstairs oak windows on the west side were completely replaced in 2022.

The environment
Wierden is a pleasant Twente village with amenities such as elementary schools, a center with stores, free parking, supermarkets, medical care and many indoor and outdoor sports facilities. The village can be reached within 10 cycling minutes. Golf course De Koepel can be found one and a half kilometers away and a mountain bike route is close by.
Secondary schools are in nearby Almelo (10km.) and Rijssen (8km.).
Delden, Hengelo and Enschede (to the east) and Deventer (towards the west) with a wide choice of specialty stores and their rich culinary and cultural offerings can be reached within a good half hour.
