Enschede, Beukerweg 50 and 50a
As One Unit For Sale
Given the special character of the entire property, the owners of Beukerweg 50 and Beukerweg 50a have decided to offer the two properties on the market as one. Both properties can be occupied independently in accordance with the zoning plan.
Living in paradise? Just outside Enschede, hidden behind an ancient ash tree, between fields and farmyards, you will find this special place where nature still prevails. Where silence reigns and relaxation comes naturally. For people who already have everything. Who want peace, space and privacy.
Just land...
You drive past fields, meadows and ditches with the occasional farmhouse. Once behind the entrance gate, no fewer than three farmhouses await you, romantically situated on gently sloping grounds with water features. When you get out of your car you are automatically silent for a moment. So much harmony is almost overwhelming. Two of the three buildings serve as residential farmhouses. The third is used as group accommodation.
Freedom
You might even feel a hint of spirituality in and around the farmhouses. This is not surprising as the current residents feel the same. The owner grew up in the mountains. This freedom inspired him when designing the current landscape. Harmonious shapes were chosen. For a mandala vegetable garden and a Yin Yang-shaped pond. The dreamy pergola along the water's edge provides grapes, roses and wisteria. Flowering shrubs alternate with impressive willows and bamboo groves. There are tame pheasants, coots and kingfishers. The fertile soil provides kilos of fresh fruit and a rich variety of vegetables every year.
Respect
Nature and harmony also prevail inside. Whether you are in the large main house (no 50) or in the stylishly converted former stable (no 50a). Century-old oaks from the property's own yard, were repurposed in the interior. Complementary colours ensure unity. Only the very best, high-quality materials were chosen. The owners owed this to their class: the first resident, Mr Beuker (1904) was one of the richest farmers in the area. The tiles still date from his interior. Sturdy Norwegian stoves heat - when necessary - the entire house. For both houses, there are plenty of welcoming sleeping and living spaces. The bedrooms with the 'sky only views' are favourites. As are those on the ground floor. Like sleeping in the middle of nature. The marble in the main house comes from the mountains where the resident grew up.
Connection
Completely renovated in 2020, the third farmhouse lends itself perfectly to courses and training. For a gym, a tea room but it can also be lived in. Around it, there is always something to do. There is a lush wisteria-covered wood store, a chopping area, a chicken coop and a covered veranda with fireplace and room for around 20 guests. Inside is a double cooking island at which you can conduct cooking workshops. At the large table everyone can always join in. With open sliding doors and all that pleasant light, it is a unique experience.
Call it a destination
Perhaps you already have a destination in mind. Perhaps you will be inspired on the spot. If you want, 10 people can live there and you can move into the farmhouses like this, but maybe you dream of large open spaces. In the group space, you may start a tea shop, gallery or other culture-related activity. Visitors - in that case - reach the place via an old church path at the back. The vegetable garden, orchard and berry cage lend themselves perfectly to self-sufficiency. Children can look forward to an unforgettable childhood with horses, sheep or anything else. The picnic tables and fire pits are meant to be enjoyed all year round.
You will find this special place on the outskirts of Lonneker in Twente, close to Enschede. About 15 minutes from the cosy Old Market with its theatres and restaurants. The Enschede School Association, supermarkets, specialist shops and sports clubs are close by, as is the A1 motorway exit towards Amsterdam.
