Description
In a highly sought-after setting close to Marlow’s fabulously vibrant town centre, a stone’s throw from the many excellent restaurants, shops and cafes, this semi-detached Victorian townhouse offers a wealth of character. Though extensively modernised, including renovations inside and out as well as a rear extension, the attractive red brick house possesses much of its period charm including the original tiled fireplace in the sitting room and cast iron fireplaces elsewhere, sash windows and a turned wood staircase. The house also features exposed brick and beam detailing and stripped solid wood doors, which are complemented by a modern décor scheme: whitewashed walls are contrasted with herringbone parquet floors, while the bathrooms and kitchen have been fully updated and are light, bright and immaculately appointed to a high standard. The kitchen is a particular highlight, having been installed in 2023 with Howdens cabinetry, integrated appliances and a breakfast bar; a set of Crittal-style doors to the rear leads out to the garden.
The accommodation is arranged over three floors and comprises an entrance hall with storage cupboard, a good-size reception room with built-in cabinetry, a dining room and open plan kitchen. On the first floor there is a generous principal bedroom, a dressing room/box room and a fabulous bathroom with both bath and shower. There are a further two bedrooms on the second floor with a further WC.
Outside
The house is set behind a low wall and a gravelled area which permits access to the front door and the rear garden via a side gate. Most of the outside space is found to the rear, where there is an enclosed garden landscaped in a low maintenance style that’s ideal for entertaining: a composite decking terrace leads to an astroturf lawn bordered by trees and shrubs, with a detached garden studio at the rear that offers many different uses – currently it is used as a home office and gym. On-street parking is available locally.
