Description
Set in the heart of the picturesque village of Windrush, The Laurels is a generously proportioned, detached family home with masses of character. Though a modern build constructed in the 1990s, the house has an older appearance which blends perfectly with the period properties of the village. Character features continue internally, such as mullion-style windows, an open stone fireplace, exposed beams and stone detailing adding to the country house feel. The décor is beautifully presented and fits well with the semi-rural setting of the house, including a farmhouse style kitchen and a fabulous reception room which provides ample space for entertaining. Families will appreciate the spacious layout, offering two separate reception areas for formal and informal occasions, plus the added benefit of a home office for working from home, which would equally make a great snug or play room. A utility room provides a separate space for laundry machines.
Upstairs, all four bedrooms are a good size and benefit from built-in wardrobes. The principal bedroom is en suite, with a shower, separate bath and twin vanity, and there are two further bath/shower rooms at either end of the house.
Outside
The Laurels has a prominent position within the village, with a gated entrance opening to a large driveway at the front of the house where there is space for a number of cars and access to a detached double garage which has a useful studio space above; the latter can be accessed from the rear garden via an external staircase. The rear garden is attractively landscaped into a number of areas, including parcels of lawn, herbaceous borders, paved terraces and paths which lead to sheds and seating areas. A pedestrian gate inset within the far wall opens to a field to the rear, over which there is access to footpaths. The garden backs onto the village church and enjoys pleasant rural views.
