Description
In the heart of Cookham’s conservation area, with close proximity to schools, green spaces and the station, Rose Cottage is a truly delightful, detached family home that has been lovingly maintained and updated by the current owner. The 1950s property retains its characterful feel while benefitting from the addition of a light-filled orangery to the rear, a two-storey side extension, a single-storey front extension and a new garage. The high ceilings make the interiors feel fantastically spacious and the layout is well laid out as family home. The neutral interiors are easily personalised and the attractive kitchen is presented in a traditional shaker style, complemented by granite work surfaces.
The sitting room and orangery takes up centre stage on the ground floor, providing a fabulous space for entertaining. The kitchen and breakfast room is also open plan and is separate, with an adjoining utility room. Additionally there is a study and a cloakroom with WC. The dining room at the middle of the house has a staircase to the first floor, where there are four bedrooms, including one en suite, and a family bathroom.
Rose Cottage has ample parking, with space on a gravel driveway to the front (with the added benefit of an electric vehicle charger) and access alongside the house on a shared lane leading to additional parking and a detached garage. The rear garden has been landscaped with mature trees and flowerbeds bordering the lawn, a good-size paved terrace to the side of the orangery – the ideal space for entertaining – and raised planters around the patio. There is access from the garden into the garage and an attached garden office.
